Correctional Institution was placed in lockdown Friday morning after a correctional officer injured in a sudden attack was hospitalized, officials said.Department of Correction spokesman Brian Garnett said the attack took place about 8:15 a.m. when a correction officer was taking an inmate out to the facility’s recreational area.

I had a similar incident on my shift my officer was letting inmates out of a pod when 4 attacked him in retaliation for a use of force on one of there homeboys. It was the worse I had seen in 11 years I am the shift supervisor of the shift it happened on and I felt responsible even though it was a pre metitated attack. My officer is fine he suffered a broken nose the inmates who assaulted him are not fine we dealt with them and shipped them to a max facility.
