Need help

I've been tasked with compiling statistics for facilities in the 400 to 700 bed range. I need numbers for staffing needs, ie. total number of officers, corporals, sergeants, lieutenants, captains, maint., kitchen, classification, etc. My goal is to justify as many officers as possible. If anyone can help me with this project, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and stay safe.

contraband clause is shaking you down

(Set to the tune of Santa Clause is coming to town)

We're making a list

We'll hit them tonight

We'll be rolling in with handcuffs and flaslights

Contraband Clause is shaking you down

He knows about your cellphones

He knows about your shanks

But don't you dare get mad at him

Cause you have the snitches to thank

Ohhhhhhh

He's looking under sinks

He's checking vents twice

He's trying to find your stash with his… Continue

IF YOU HAD TO CHOOSE ONE WORD TO DESCRIBE YOUR SENTIMENTS ABOUT WORKING AT YOUR JAIL OR FACILITY WHAT WOULD IT BE? AND WHY?

Leadership....is it in you???

Leadership is more than just a rank on your collar. As a matter of fact, it has nothing to do with rank, years worked, or any of the other things we commonly equate with the word leadership. You could be the finest Sargent or Lieutenant in your own eyes but your subordinates wouldn't follow you into a fast food joint much less a fight or riot situation. A leader is someone who can talk to their people, find their strengths and weaknesses and post them accordingly. A leader leads by example not… Continue

dirty......dont let it happen to you!!!!

In the corrections profession we would like to think that we are on the same page as officers and that we are all honorable and uphold the law and our oath. We would like to think that we don't have anybody among us that would dishonor themselves or their team members by being dirty...but the truth is....we are wrong. There are people who we trust with our lives that are bringing in dope, phones, and God know's what else to these inmates. There are people who sit in our muster rooms everyday… Continue

what's going Through your mind?

When you bring drugs and other contraband in to inmates. Surely not the safety of your fellow officers. Are the few dollars your get worth it. Surely you consider the fact you might get caught, I guess not.

Genral.

Correctional officers that promote Jail contraband, especially drugs and cellphone should be terminated and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.because they jeopardize the safety and lives of good officers.

Officer generated contraband.

My name is Cpl. A. King, I am having problems with officers bringing in contraband into my facility. Is anyone else having this problem? If so how are you dealing with it.

In the End.....

The Corrections Officer stood and faced his God, which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining, just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, Corrections Officer. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To my church have you been true?" The Corrections Officer squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord I guess I ain't, because those of us…

CERT training done right.

Throughout time Corrections Officers have relied on brut strength to over power an inmate. I am talking about the tradtional cell extractions that go on throughout the county the old and dangerous way. In 2009 I underwent training with a company that specialized in "Corrections CERT Training" and offered a Master Instructor course. Of course not know any better I attended. The class lasted two full weeks and cover a lot of material but a lot of questions came up during class when I spoke…

Segragation

I need some help.  My administration is attempting to change our segration and Inmate discipline policy.  The MAX seg time that we are going to be able to give Inmates is 14 days.  this is for the most serious offense like killing another person.

If you would be willing to share you current polies and or procedure around Inmate Discipline and Segragation I would really appreciate it.

I think that reduced Seg time is absolutly a slap in the face to the Officers who work the…
