What kind of facility do you work in? Pre- or Post- conviction? They seem to have it really easy there. Holey-moley!!
What do online officers, such as yourself, say about all the things inmates in your facility allowed to have? Are all'a y'all fed up with it? Do y'all think the inmates have it easy there? How did they come by getting to accumulate so much in their cells?
If they screw up, are y'all allowed to take all that stuff away? Are inmates in lockdown allowed all that too?
Hey Garet
Its a pre-conviction facility with 500 inmates. I belive you call it a jail. Denmarks biggest. But compared to US its nothing, hehe. I think we are to leigniant towards the inmates. We put up with to much of the inmates crap.
The Corrections Departments attitude is that the inmates should have the same rights no matter if they are inside or outside the walls... of course if its possible... but that is the Departments wishes. And i showes in how they want us to handle the inmates. The department feels that locking some up is a punishment in its self. Thast why the leigniant attitude.
I actually think its a good thing the inmates have tv and playstation because it keeps them occupied and it helps the inmate to pas time. They usually dont go crazy from boredom becuase there are plenty to do to pas time. We have work, gymtime, yardtime, afternoon sports, and the inmates can choose to visit another inmate in his cell for about to hours a day.
All of this is to keep the inmates busy so they dont just sit around and go crazy and all of a sudden attacks the officers. Its very rare that we have inmates attacking officers. And thats a good thing. But yes, overall i think they have it to easy.
All inmates have access to tv and playstation.
If they screw up we can order
1. Roomconfindment.. ( In their own cell) Up to 7 days
2. We have cells with only a bed and a small chair and table bolted to the floor. (If the are acting up or we want to keep an extra eye on them)
3. We have 2 cells were we can strap the inmates to a bed. (If they are a threath to themselves or us we strap em)
4. If they are very aggresive and very resourcedemanding inmates we can transfer them to a cellblock that operates more as an US facility. Very strict and disciplined cellblock. Some of Denmarks most dangerous inmates are housed in this cellblock. My kind of cellblock. hehe
Otherwise i want a much harder attitude towards the inmates when they do act up. for exapmle, We put up with the fact they stand and act up and calls us a wide range of bad words and all we do is write a report and he gets roomconfindment or a fine.
I think the courts have a tendency to sentence the inmates to low. A robbery towards a jewelrystore gives about 2-3 years. Assaulting another person can give you 3 years but usually gives 3-6 months unless its aggravated assault. I can give you 6 years but usually gives you about a 2 years. Not very often the sentence maximum.

I read your post on Corrections Nation. Sounds like you have a lot of experience on Jail Tactical Teams. With that said, I am looking for any information on up-to-date tactics, products, etc that are currently being used by Jail Tactical Teams. Do you know where I can obtain any DVDs dealing with cell extractions, equipment, down officer rescues, tactical formation, etc? I am the president of a training company called Pearson-Radli & Associates. We provide training to law enforcement and corrections personnel. Any information you can give me would greatly appreciated. My email address is pearson75@gmail.com . Please visit our website at www.pearson-radli.com for information about our company.
Thanks
